Safety information

Before your session

These guidelines help determine whether a session can go ahead, should be adapted or needs to be postponed. If you are unsure, describe your situation before the appointment.

01

Postpone the session

A session should not take place when your general condition or a recent event calls for rest, assessment or appropriate healthcare.

  • Fever, current infection or contagious illness.
  • Recent trauma, significant fall, suspected fracture or an unevaluated sprain.
  • Acute, new, unexplained or rapidly worsening pain.
  • Open wound, burn, significant skin inflammation or a contagious skin condition.
  • Recent surgery without the agreement of the professional responsible for your follow-up.
  • Intoxication or substance use affecting perception and informed consent.

02

Tell us before booking

Some situations do not necessarily prevent a session, but they require a prior conversation, an adaptation or guidance from the healthcare professional who follows you.

  • Pregnancy or the recent postpartum period.
  • Anticoagulant medication, a known clotting disorder or frequent bruising.
  • Cardiovascular disease, bone fragility or a significant chronic condition.
  • Current cancer care.
  • A prosthesis, implanted device, previous operation or surgical area.
  • Painful varicose veins, unusual swelling or a known circulatory condition.
  • Allergy, skin sensitivity or a known reaction to massage products.

03

During the session

You may ask for the pressure to be changed, decline a technique or stop the session at any time. Sharp pain, discomfort, dizziness, unusual numbness or any worrying sensation should be reported immediately.

When to seek prompt medical advice

Chest pain, unusual shortness of breath, sudden weakness, difficulty speaking, loss of sensation, sudden swelling of a limb or intense pain after trauma are not appropriate for a wellness session. Contact the appropriate emergency or healthcare service without delay.
